Get To Know Jesus

Posted: August 31, 2015 in Uncategorized

The Bible tells us, “God is Love!” (1 John 4:8). The Lord is our Creator and cares a great deal about us. “See how much the Father has loved us? His love is so great that we are called God’s children” (1 John 3:1 TEV).

God wants you to have a happy life. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11). Perhaps you’ve had moments in your life when you wondered, “Is this all there is?” Maybe you’ve felt there was something missing and felt a longing to understand the purpose of life—your life! Some people feel emptiness in their heart that nothing seems to fill. Others wonder, “Where did I come from?” or “Why is there so much hatred and evil in the world?”

The Bible tells us there is a loving and compassionate God who created our world in order to have a meaningful and joyful relationship with us. Our planet was originally created perfectly. There was no death or pain; no tears were shed over broken relationships. Everything functioned harmoniously. The bible says “it was very good” Genesis 1:31. But something happened our first parents Adam and Eve sinned and because they sinned we where now  “shapen in iniquity” Psalms 51:2. Sin has now broken the connection with God the Bible tells us But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear” (Isaiah 59:2). Because we are sinners we have all broken God’s law of love “…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23)Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law 1 John 3:4. So how would God reconnect us back to him. It was by God sending his Son to die for you and me. Because Adam sinned we were all faced with eternal death but because Jesus became our substitute for Adam we where saved, in the book of 1 Timothy 1:15 it says This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. What wonderful news! that Jesus came to save sinners. It was because of his great love for us that Jesus was willing to take our sins to the cross and die a death that you and me can never do Christ died so people could live eternally and not have to die. You see it is because of his blood that covers us protects us from the accuser of the brethren(Satan). Hebrews 9:22 says And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. Praise God Jesus shed his blood for you and me. “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21). So How Do you Accept Jesus Into your Life? This is how.

If you would like to receive Christ into your life right now, follow these simple steps:

  1. Recognize you must die(self must die). “The wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23).
  2. Realize you cannot save yourself. “Without Me (God) you can do nothing” (John 15:5).
  3. Repent and confess to God that you are a sinner. “All have sinned…” (Romans 3:23).
  4. Believe Jesus died for your sins. “For God so loved the world that He gave…” (John 3:16).
  5. Believe that Jesus forgives you of sin. “If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9)
  6. Believe that you have eternal life. “He who believes in Me has everlasting life” (John 6:47).

Now live in faith everyday in your new way of life. “As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him” (Colossians 2:6). When we start this new life in Christ those old sinful ways will start to fall off your desires for worldly things become dim and the spiritual things will become real to you and joyful. The Bible says

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.  Philippians 4:7-9

So, if you have not yet given your heart to the Lord and feel ready to take that step, you may kneel down in front of your computer and pray this prayer from your heart:

“Dear Lord, I realize that you love me and want to have a relationship with me. But I have learned that I am a sinner and my evil choices and actions lead to death. I confess my sinfulness to You. Please come into my heart and remove all sin and fill me with Your love. Because Jesus Christ took my sins upon Himself and suffered for me, I freely accept His offer of eternal life. Thank you for what you have done and what you are doing in my life right now! I accept Your gift of salvation! I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!”

Rescue from Above

The papacy has changed Sabbath to Sunday.

Since the August 12, 2015 radio broadcast of Pope Francis, Bishop Gianfranco Todisco of Melfi-Rapolla-Venosa has written an open letter to Nicola Glimpse, the CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles urging him to close his plant in Melfi from 10:00pm on Saturdays to 10:00pm on Sundays.

Thankful that an improving economy will improve fathers’ ability to provide for their families, the bishop wrote that “experience teaches us that Sunday Rest is essential, not only to restore their physical strength – work on an assembly line is hard, despite efforts to make it lighter – but also to strengthen family ties, which are essential for the healthy growth of human relations.” He also cited Pope Francis radio message on August 12, by writing that “the time for rest, especially on Sundays, is meant for us because we can enjoy what is not produced and does not wear out, do not buy and do not sell…”

Sunday rest, he continued “not only promotes the welfare of the family, but also becomes the best investment a company can make… because it gives top priority to the dignity of the human person, with his legitimate needs and aspirations that cannot be put to death by the law of profit.”

Notice that the bishop makes the case for not buying and selling on Sunday. Also notice that he does not keep Sabbath time (sundown to sundown) on Sunday, but his own suggestions, i.e. 10:00pm to 10:00pm. It is also worthy of note, that the bishop did not quote scripture in his letter as his authority for pressuring the CEO to observe Sunday sacredness in his plant. He only quotes Pope Francis and Pope Benedict XVI.

“And he shall think to change the times and the law.” Daniel 7:25, RSV.* “Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.” “In vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” Matthew 15:6, 9. “Her priests have violated my law.” “And her prophets have daubed them with untempered mortar, … saying, Thus saith the Lord God, when the Lord hath not spoken.” Ezekiel 22:26, 28.

Misguided men of long years past announced that God’s holy day was changed from Sabbath to Sunday. God predicted it would happen, and it did. This error was passed on to our unsuspecting generation as gospel fact. Sunday-keeping is a tradition of uninspired men and breaks God’s law, which commands Sabbath-keeping. Only God can make a day holy. God blessed the Sabbath, and when God blesses, no man can “reverse it.” Numbers 23:20.

Here is the proof: the papacy, “Did you really change Sabbath to Sunday?”

She replies, “Yes, we did. It is our symbol, or mark, of authority and power.”

We ask, “How could you even think of doing that?”

It’s a pertinent question. But the question the papacy officially asks Protestants is even more pertinent. Please read it carefully:

“You will tell me that Saturday was the Jewish Sabbath, but that the Christian Sabbath has been changed to Sunday. Changed! but by whom? Who has authority to change an express commandment of Almighty God? When God has spoken and said, Thou shalt keep holy the seventh day, who shall dare to say, Nay, thou mayest work and do all manner of worldly business on the seventh day but thou shalt keep holy the first day in its stead? This is a most important question, which I know not how you can answer. You are a Protestant, and you profess to go by the Bible and the Bible only and yet in so important a matter as the observance of one day in seven as a holy day, you go against the plain letter of the Bible, and put another day in the place of that day which the Bible has commanded.

The command to keep holy the seventh day is one of the ten commandments you believe that the other nine are still binding who gave you authority to tamper with the fourth? If you are consistent with your own principles, if you really follow the Bible and the Bible only, you ought to be able to produce some portion of the New Testament in which this fourth commandment is expressly altered.” 11 11Library of Christian Doctrine: Why Don’t You Keep Holy the Sabbath-Day? (London: Burns and Oates, Ltd.), pp. 3, 4.

Yet this very class put forth the claim that the fast-spreading corruption is largely attributable to the desecration of the so-called “Christian sabbath,” and that the enforcement of Sunday observance would greatly improve the morals of society… It is one of Satan’s devices to combine with falsehood just enough truth to give it plausibility. The leaders of the Sunday movement may advocate reforms which the people need, principles which are in harmony with the Bible; yet while there is with these a requirement which is contrary to God’s law, His servants cannot unite with them. Nothing can justify them in setting aside the commandments of God for the precepts of men. The Great Controversy, pages 587 and 588. For more info. Check out
