Yet Another Priestly Scandal · August 27, 2012
A Woodburn, OR priest was accused of drunkenly fondling a 12-year-old boy. “The Archdiocese of Portland offered an open-ended loan” to the not-so-reverend priest.
Woodburn Police arrested Perez after the boy “ran out of a parish-owned house, telling authorities the clergyman had fondled him. Perez told investigators he had gotten very drunk and passed out and didn’t remember what had happened. But he acknowledged that he drove to the boy’s home, where he fell to his knees, and apologized to his parents, according to a police report.”
The Mexican priest, who is a permanent legal resident of the U.S., chased the boy down the street yelling to have him come back. The boy had been staying overnight at the priest’s home before going on a trip to the mountains. The priest had asked his parents permission to do so. After the encounter, “the boy packed up his belongings and ran out of the house just before midnight. Perez, wearing only his underwear, is accused of chasing after the boy.”
The judge found evidence that Perez “would pose a risk to the victim in the case and the general public if he was released pending trial,” and ordered that he be held without bail.
A grand jury has also “returned an eight-count indictment against Perez. It charges him with first-degree sexual abuse, abuse of a child in the display of sexually explicit conduct, tampering with physical evidence, four counts of furnishing alcohol to a minor and driving under the influence of intoxicants.
Perez has hired one of the best defense lawyers in the state. “If in fact the priest has admitted wrongdoing, then one reason for going with someone like Marc [Blackman] is that he is so well respected he might be able to negotiate a more tolerable plea bargain,” he said. Picking Blackman, he said, showed one thing: “They went right to the top of the class.”
Again current events in the news have lifted the veil on the secret and sordid behavior of Roman Catholic priests who claim to be representatives of God on earth.
“And the woman… [had] a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication.” Revelation 17:4
“Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” Revelation 18:4
